Candyman star Tony Todd was paid $23,000 for the 23 bee stings he got during the filming of Candynman
Evidence that you can’t have any gain without pain is the $23,000 that Candyman star Tony Todd was paid for the pain and suffering that 23 bee stings caused him.
Here’s what Tony Todd told Movie Web about his painful way of making $23, 000: “I negotiated a bonus of $1,000 for every sting during the bee scene. And I got stung 23 times. Everything that’s worth making has to involve some sort of pain.”
Tony Todd went through a lot of pain. Those bee stings hurt! It’s like a billion tiny little pins hitting each and every little nerve in your body. It’ll make a grown man cry which I’m sure Tony Todd did at least 23 times.
The good news for him is that he had enough money, $23,000 to be exact, to get all the Benadryl he needed in order to lessen that pain.
There is a new Candyman movie that’ll be out on Netflix sometime next year. That is after it comes out at a theatre near you. Get Out and Us writer and director Jordan Peele is releasing the movie through his Monkeypaw Productions company. Nia DaCosta, the director of Little Woods , will be directing the movie. Aquaman star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has been tapped to play the main character, named Anthony, who takes in interest in the legend of Candyman.
Hopefully, he doesn’t make the same mistake as the others and become Candyman’s “victim” by saying his name five times.
